The Beauty in 2019 Reading List

I know this post is way over due, but 5 months left in the year is plenty of time to get some reading in. Since kindergarten, I’ve had an affinity for books and reading. It was my escape from being in a house with my three brothers or my way of getting out of daily chores. {Side Note: I learned early on, if my father saw a book in my hand, he would tell my mother to leave me alone if I was told to wash dishes or help in the kitchen. That worked well until my mother caught on that I was rereading the same books. lol.}

Throughout the years my love for books and reading hasn’t wavered. While I attended law school, I was often told I would abhor reading leisurely once I was done, but one week post-Bar exam, and once again, books and reading have become my escape. If anything my love and my necessity to read leisurely has grown tremendously over the last 3 years.

In the beginning of this year, I had a goal to read at least 12 books this year, and despite completing law school/Bar study and thanks to the Kindle App and my Kindle Unlimited membership, I have surpassed my goal twice, maybe even thrice (covers face). This is partly due to my guilty pleasure of African American romance novels and my love for books series. (Once you start one book, you have to complete the series. I don’t make the rules.)

So, notwithstanding the books I’ve read on my Kindle, below I have compiled a list of the physical books I planned to read this year. I have already read or I am currently reading about half of the books listed, and hopefully by December 31st, I would have read the other half. I’ll make sure to keep you all posted.
